Recovery of Asteroids from Observations of Too-Short Arcs by Triangulating Their Admissible Regions

The data set collected during the night of discovery a minor body constitutes too-short arc (TSA), resulting in failure differential correction procedure. This makes it necessary to recover object subsequent nights gather more observations that will allow preliminary orbit be calculated. In this work, we present recovery technique based on sampling admissible region (AdRe) by constrained Delaunay triangulation. We construct AdRe its topocentric and geocentric variants, using logarithmic exponential metrics, for following near-Earth-asteroids: (3122) Florence, (3200) Phaethon, 2003 GW, (1864) Daedalus, BH84 1977 QQ5; main-belt asteroids: (1738) Oosterhoff, (4690) Strasbourg, (555) Norma, 2006 SO375, GE55 (32811) Apisaon. Using our technique, established ephemeris these objects, intervals observation from 25 minutes up 2 hours, with propagation times 1 47 days. All objects were recoverable field vision 95’ × 72’, except Florence since they observed their closest approach Earth. case performed an additional test only two separated minutes, achieving 28 days after discovery, which demonstrates potential technique.
